About the project

Wiki Warsha (warsha is the Arabic word for ‘workshop’) is an Arabic-language introduction to Wikipedia, developed and designed by Wikimedia Israel. This online course includes general information in Arabic about Wikipedia, as well as specific instructions for new editors who wish to add content to Wikipedia, and join the Arabic Wikipedia community of editors.

Wiki Warsha includes short instructional films, texts and images and is divided into 13 lessons, as detailed below:

Wikimedia Israel, a non-profit non-governmental organization, is part of the global Wikimedia movement, which includes organizations, groups and individual volunteers worldwide. The movement works in about 300 languages to promote the creation of free content on Wikipedia, as well as in other projects affiliated with the international Wikimedia Foundation.

Wikimedia Israel works Hebrew and Arabic, and focuses on holding guided workshops and editing events, as well as developing instructional tools and initiating cooperations with local cultural and educational institutes.
